DOT Alcohol Testing

Certified Alcohol Testing Solutions

The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires employers to conduct alcohol testing under a variety of circumstances. If your employee was involved in an accident, you may have to carry out post-accident DOT alcohol testing. Alcohol tests may also be required when a supervisor has reason to suspect an employee is misusing alcohol, or for return-to-duty and follow-up reasons. Additionally, random alcohol testing is required under DOT regulations.

As an employer, it is your responsibility to ensure that your employees undergo the necessary DOT alcohol testing. At Fastest Labs®, we make the process simple, offering quick, accurate test results and certified services you can trust. We regularly work with companies of all sizes and in all industries, providing everything from pre-employment screening to random drug and alcohol testing to for-cause breath alcohol testing services.

Understanding Strict DOT Alcohol Testing Regulations

When it comes to alcohol testing, DOT regulations are fairly strict. The device used to detect alcohol use, known as an evidential breath testing device, or EBT must be approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Additionally, the EBT can only be operated by a certified breath alcohol technician.

Various circumstances will result in an automatic failed DOT alcohol test result, including:

  • Refusal to take a breath alcohol test
  • Refusal to complete and/or sign the testing form
  • Refusal to provide adequate breath
  • Test result of 0.04 blood alcohol content or higher
  • Refusal to cooperate with any part of the testing process

At Fastest Labs, our certified breathalyzer technicians are well-versed in the complex requirements of DOT alcohol testing. Our professional Fastest Labs collectors are fully trained and certified in a variety of alcohol tests, including saliva and breath tests. We can help you navigate the process and take the necessary steps after positive test results in order to ensure the continued operation of your business.

We Simplify the DOT Alcohol Testing Process

As a business owner or manager, you likely do not have time to create and implement an entire DOT drug and alcohol testing program. However, this is a necessary element of keeping your business up and running if you fall under the six safety-sensitive agencies as outlined by DOT, including FMCSA, FAA, FTA, PHMSA, USCG, and FRA. That’s where Fastest Labs comes in. We can handle your DOT drug and alcohol testing needs, helping you with everything from policy creation and implementation to mobile DOT alcohol testing, reporting test results, and more. Our certified breath alcohol technicians work quickly and efficiently to get you the test results you need.
